Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Footagen.ai is an AI film production platform operated by Frame Rate Oy ("Footagen", "we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal data when you use our platform and services.

The platform is not open yet. Until it launches, the only personal data we collect through this website is what you enter into the waitlist form. The sections below marked (from launch) describe the platform itself and apply once you have an account.
2. What data we collect
Waitlist
- Contact details: first name, last name and email address.
- Profile: whether you apply as an individual or a company, the kinds of production you work on, and — for companies — company name, size, estimated number of users and field of work.
- Optional interests: whether you want a closer look at the platform, whether you are interested in a Creative Collaborator partnership, and any portfolio link you provide.
- Consent record: whether you opted in to marketing email, the version of the wording you agreed to, and when.
Platform (from launch)
- Account data: name, email address, password (hashed), billing information.
- Production data: screenplays, shot lists, prompts, asset files and generated footage you create or upload inside the platform.
- Usage data: feature usage, session logs, error reports and performance metrics collected to improve the platform.
- Payment data: processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full card details.
3. How we use your data
Waitlist
- To let you know when a beta place becomes available or when the platform opens, and to plan who we invite and in what order.
- To understand what kinds of production our early users work on, so we build for them.
- To send you product updates, only if you ticked that box. You can withdraw that at any time using the unsubscribe link in any such email, or by writing to us. Withdrawing it does not remove you from the waitlist.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share your waitlist details with anyone outside the providers listed in section 5.
Platform (from launch)
- To provide, operate and improve the Footagen.ai platform.
- To process payments and manage your subscription.
- To send transactional emails (receipts, account notifications).
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your production content to train AI models. Your screenplays, prompts and generated footage are your own and are not used for model training by Footagen or any third party through us.
4. Legal basis (GDPR)
We process personal data on the following legal bases under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Contract performance — processing necessary to provide the service you subscribed to.
- Legitimate interests — platform security, fraud prevention and product analytics.
- Legal obligation — compliance with applicable law.
- Consent — where you have given specific consent (e.g. marketing emails).
5. Data sharing
We share personal data only with:
- AI model providers — prompts and reference assets are sent to third-party model APIs (e.g. Google, OpenAI, Seedance) solely to generate your requested output. These providers process data according to their own terms.
- Payment processors — Stripe, for billing.
- Infrastructure providers — cloud hosting and storage providers operating under data processing agreements.
We do not sell personal data to third parties.
6. Data retention
Waitlist entries are kept until the platform has opened and the waitlist has been worked through, and are deleted within 12 months of that point at the latest. Ask us sooner and we will delete yours immediately.
Account data is retained for the duration of your subscription plus 30 days after account deletion. Production files are deleted within 30 days of account deletion unless you request earlier removal. Billing records are retained for 7 years as required by law.
7. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the EU/EEA, you have the right to access, correct, delete, port or restrict processing of your personal data. You may also object to certain processing and withdraw consent at any time. Contact privacy@footagen.ai to exercise these rights. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
8. EU AI Act
Footagen.ai is built with the EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) transparency requirements in mind. AI-generated content produced through our platform is identified as AI-generated through the production record attached to every output, which documents the model and provider used, the prompt and the asset references. This gives you a documented account of how AI was used within a production.
9. Cookies
This website sets no cookies. There is nothing to accept or decline, and no consent banner, because we do not track you across sites and do not use advertising cookies. Any visitor statistics we keep are aggregate counts that cannot identify you.
(From launch) The platform itself will use essential cookies for signing in and keeping you signed in. Those are required for it to work at all.
10. Security
We use TLS encryption for data in transit and AES-256 encryption for data at rest. Access controls, audit logs and regular security reviews are in place. In the event of a data breach affecting your rights, we will notify you and the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours as required by GDPR.
11. Changes to this policy
We will notify you by email of material changes to this Privacy Policy at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance.
